Bethany Beach is a small coastal town in Delaware. It’s known for its wide, boardwalk-backed beach. North of town, Delaware Seashore State Park is a barrier island with miles of beaches between Rehoboth and Indian River bays and the Atlantic Ocean. To the south, Fenwick Island State Park has dunes and a surf area. The shoreline, fields and forests of Holts Landing State Park attract birdlife like herons and osprey.

Bethany Beach Resources:

South Coastal Library - In 1978, a library was established on Garfield Parkway in Bethany Beach. This replaced a busy bookmobile stop. The library was a joint venture sponsored by the Delaware Division of Libraries. The Division provided a building (480 square feet trailer) and the original book stock, the town of Bethany Beach provided land, and the County provided the staff and all operating expenses. The county has continued to operate and maintain library services for the Bethany Beach area. It was not long before the library outgrew its space.

Bethany-Fenwick Chamber of Commerce - The Bethany-Fenwick area Chamber of Commerce is committed to connecting the local businesses and non-profits to the people of Bethany Beach, Delaware. The chamber offers networking events and lunches with local business owners in the Bethany-Fenwick area.

Bethany Seashore State Park - Transportation along this barrier island, bounded on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and on the west by Rehoboth Bay and Indian River Bay, was difficult until the Federal government completed construction of two large steel and stone jetties in 1939, stabilizing the Indian River Inlet. The State Park Commission (now the Division of Parks and Recreation) began managing the land as Indian River State Park in 1965, but it didn't become Delaware Seashore State Park until 1967.
