With pumpkin patches to peruse, haunted houses to brave through and lots of hot apple cider and donuts to fill up on—read on to see what events around the area can’t be missed this year.

Festivals you won’t want to miss

The Bridgeville Apple Scrapple Festival begins on Friday, October 14 at 4p.m. until 10:30p.m. before finishing up on Saturday, October 15 from 9a.m. until 10p.m. With a two-day line-up full of delicious treats to try, music performances you won’t want to miss and a variety of local vendors to stop by—this event in Bridgeville is always a great one to add to your list.

Next up is the 32nd Annual Sea Witch Festival in Rehoboth Beach. This iconic event is well known throughout the country, and it offers a fun time for the whole family to enjoy. This year, the event will be going from Friday, October 28 at 8a.m. until Sunday, October 30 at 8p.m. With three days filled with a variety of entertainment options such as trick-or-treating games, hayrides, a 5k run and the annual parade that passes through Rehoboth Avenue on Saturday morning—the Sea Witch Festival is always worth the trip to the beach.

It wouldn’t be a fall activities list in Delaware if we didn’t mention the Fifer Orchards Fall Fun Fest. Throughout the entire fall season, from Wednesday, September 26 until Saturday, November 5, the Orchard will be open with a variety of activities taking place each week. With the corn maze, U-Pick pumpkin patch and many sweet treats to try out—this spot is a must visit during the season.

Endless array of pumpkin patches

On the topic of pumpkin patches, there are a few additional spots that would be the perfect addition to your fall calendar this year. One in particular that you’ve undoubtedly heard of or perhaps have visited once or twice before is Wicked R Western Productions in the city of Wyoming. This 61-acre establishment has a wide variety of pumpkins, squash and other holiday favorites to add to your home decor. With a one-mile haunted trail to explore as well, you’ll certainly be in the halloween spirit that the season provides.

Ramsey’s Farms in Wilmington offers a wide variety of events that everyone can enjoy. The pumpkin painting station is always an especially fun place for the kids as well as the farmyard playground. With barnyard animals to meet, a corn maze to get through and hayrides to take you through the beautiful scenery—Ramsey’s Farm always offers plenty to do and see.

Last up on our list—but certainly not the last one throughout the state—is Loblolly Acres in the city of Viola. During the last Sunday in September and each Sunday in October, this beautiful location offers a corn maze, petting zoo, hayrides, pumpkin picking and so much more—making it definitely worth the trip.
