Stunning shorelines
Bordered by Delaware Bay to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Sussex County offers a variety of beaches that each have a distinct style.

The Point at Cape Henlopen State Park welcomes visitors to six miles of shoreland and trails through dunes and wetlands. Admire the iconic old lighthouses, or take in the view from the World War II observation tower that overlooks the sand. Fishing, walking, cycling, and camping are encouraged here at the home of the annual Delaware Kite Festival.

Surrounded by water on both sides, Rehoboth Beach is one of the East Coast’s most family-friendly beaches. with the Funland park that includes rides, games, and an arcade located right on the boardwalk. From here, you can also wander over to the Tanger Outlets to shop for your favorite brands. Rehoboth Bay to the west is one of Delaware’s three Inland Bays and it covers 13 square miles.

Dewey Beach is located just south of Rehoboth Beach but offers a sportier atmosphere with visitors boating, parasailing, wakeboarding, water skiing, and windsurfing in the sun. This sea town is known for its nightclubs and bayside restaurants making for convenient stops between adventures.

If you are looking for a quieter experience, try Bethany Beach which is a popular destination for family retreats. Spend time on the broad beaches or treat yourself to tax-free shopping in town. There is something to keep everyone entertained here and wonderful restaurants where you can meet and recap the day.
